Mission Overview
Objectives
Primary
- Demonstrate the capability of the FASTSAT-HSV spacecraft to launch a
nanosatellite while minimizing recontact.
- Demonstrate the capability of the NanoSail-D nanosatellite to deploy a
highly compacted solar sail/boom system and to validate de-orbit
functionality.
Secondary
- Establish ARC-MSFC collaborative relationship for future small satellite
initiatives
- Ground Imaging to reduce spacecraft instrumentation
- Add to flight experience – ARC Bus "light" experience
